Hi dear readers!! during these weeks we are working on the internationally acclaimed THE VERY HUNGRY CATERPILLAR by Eric Carle, where a tiny caterpillar eats and eats ... and eats his way through the week.
Here is the story!!
By the way...we also have caterpillars in our classes!! and they are just as hungry as the one in the story, :-)
During this week we have been doing a great activity outdoors, in the playground!!! We learnt how to plant a flower!! After an amazing explanation of our co-teacher Raquel, we were ready to put everything into practice, so off we went to the playground and enjoyed a lot doing this activity.
This is the last activity that our training teacher, Raquel, did with us, 😭 we will miss you Raquel, you are fantastic!!
Within the unit of work about Spring we are learning the parts of a flower therefore, we are working with both real and artificial flowers.
First of all, pupils are checking that flowers smell lovely but, they are also delicate so they can touch them gently.
Then we show them which are the parts of a flower, give them samples of everything and the make their own flowers!!!
IT'S SO MUCH FUN!!!
Such a pity they don't smell 😔
Sometimes, we have the chance to play with plasticine. They just love it and are getting really good and modelling what I ask them to do. This time it was A FLOWER!!!!
And these are the lovely posters that our pupils made with the help of Raquel.
This week we started with the letter sound /t/. Charlie, our monkey friend came to class with tennis rackets and tennis balls. We have so much fun playing with him!!
We have been practising short a vowel sound with them as well as capital letter and lower case spelling. Our focus is on oral production although they love knowing the spelling of letters so, why not?? They had so much fun!!
